Hi, My 5 1/2 year old daughter Emily has amplyopia. After patching for two hours a day for several months our Dr. says we must patch 12 hours a day because of lack of improvement with the two hour patching. :( My questions is this? Has anyone had success with patching with the patches called "Lindseys Lenses" ? They are colored plastic that stick to the outside of the lens of her glasses. We just got these a month ago and she loves them because they are in several colors that she chose. They are pretty and she can match them to her clothes. Before we got these we tried the Band-Aid type patch and it irritated her skin. So, we mainly used a special cloth patch that covered her glasses and the side of her glasses. Is it important to block out the light on the side when patching? The new plastic colored patches do not cover the sides. I watched her closely today and she really wasn't peeking. I sure hope someone has had success with these because she likes these patches so much! Thanks . Tonya

I thought I would share this with you guys. Madison has two of the Lindseys Lenses and was having a hard time deciding which one to put on, She looked up at me very seriously and said "Why can't I wear one on each eye?" LOL My husband and i burst out laughing and she got mad but it was really cute. B

Bruce and Carol, I am not worried about the "peeking" issue honestly I am more worried
that I couldn't get her to take it off when her patching time was done. I let her go an extra fifteen minutes because she was so thrilled with it. We went visiting all the relatives and everyone made such a fuss she was thrilled. About the price, at first I was a little dismayed but after I figured out what we were paying for the daily throw away patches yours was a smarter choice all the way around. I can't believe they wanted you to charge 1.00, be for real. These are worth more than what I paid for them. My daughters self
confidence is worth the world to me. She has been through enough, this
lightens the load tremendously. Thanks again and I will stop raving or people
might think I work for you. - Belinda (mother to Miss Madison a girl who is newly proud to wear her glasses!)

Hi everyone, Just thought I would let you know that I finally ordered and received
the lindsey lenses for my son Madison. He was the one with horrible
sores due to the patches if you can remember correctly. I just
thought I would let you know that he LOVES them. I think they are
great and I would just like to Thank Bruce and Carol for their
efforts in making something a little more comfortable and fashionable
for our children. I would recommend them to anyone needing to patch
their children’s eye. Thanks again for the support.- Jenn

I too have a Madison (although she is a girl) and have also just ordered and just received her Lindsey’s lenses and she too loves them. I have never seen her so excited to put on her glasses. I also would like to Thank Bruce and Carol for going over and above the call of duty getting the lenses to us and making sure Madison would love them. Her self
confidence was boosted tenfold and she immediately asked me to take pictures
of her in them. I watch kids in my home and they where all so jealous of her
lenses that Madison was strutting around with her patch on in glory. (Not
nice for the others I know but I was thrilled as patching is a daily
struggle) I would recommend the lenses to anyone and am only sorry I didn't
find them last year. Thanks again for such a great product. B

Hi! It's Ellen. Yesterday, I took AJ (my 6 year old) to his check up with the PO. It has been 8 weeks since our last visit and AJ has been wearing his Lindsey's Lenses (which are
fabulous!) each day for about 6 hours and sometimes longer. Well, I finally asked what his numbers were from the beginning and was told that he was: right eye=20/20 and left eye=20/300 uncorrected vision. At his last appointment we did see some improvement: right eye=2/20 and left eye=20/60 corrected vision, but at this appointment we saw
lots of improvement. His corrected vision is now right eye=20/20 and left eye=20/25. He will probably always need to wear lenses for his far-sightedness, but everyone was quite pleased with his progress. AJ asked a question at the Dr.s office, which was, "How do you get Amblyopia?" Great question. Too bad no one had an answer for him. We had a long talk about heredity, preemies, etc. I don't know if he completely understands it. Anyway, we need to cut back on our patch wearing to 3 hrs per day and no more. I told AJ that he could wear his patch after school and he said no, he'd rather wear it to school.

He doesn't have to wear it on the weekends at all. The Dr. said we need to get him off of the patch. Dr. Gold was quite pleased with AJ's progress and I think he was impressed with Lindsey's Lenses. Again, thank you Carol and Bruce Rule for your wonderful product. AJ says he never wants to stop wearing his patch. I think the Lindsey's Lenses are terrific. They do not confine the eye in total darkness, which can be pretty scary to a little one. Even with the occasional peeking, which can't be helped since the children are shorter than us and need to look upward a lot, they get in the recommended wearing
time and are so happy about it. It stops all of the fighting over wearing a patch. The only problem seems to be deciding which color and pattern will best match with the outfit of the day. AJ's friends have been great with him and so many people around us are being educated about Amblyopia and patch wearing. It has now been one year since AJ
got his glasses and we have patched for 4 months. I am hoping for continued progress. -Ellen

We are starting to get a great response as we get more and more exposure. We keep reading all the email that is sent through the Lazy Eye List, we feel for all of you because of what we have experienced with Lindsey, and we want to help because we feel that we have a product that can help with the patching process. We know that the peeking is a # 1 question we get, but with all the different opinions that are out there we are finding that with the child wearing the patch all the time and with them loving them this far outweighs the small amount of peeking they may do. Here is our website and if you would like to talk to us please email us and give us a good time to call and will be happy to talk to you however long. We feel that this goes beyond just a product.
