What is a Lindsey Lens?
So what exactly is a Lindsey Lens? It is plastic, and under normal wear, an unbreakable cover that can be taken on and off by using a special adhesive pad made exclusively for optical lenses, no messy tape and no damage to your lens, so you change colors to match whatever your child is wearing. Each lens is handmade for the shape of their glasses for a perfect fit, and you can change colors to match whatever your child is wearing. It attaches securely (tested by Lindsey's 5 year old twin brothers and McDonald's play area). It comes in many colors including glow in the dark, glitter, and with the addition of your own stickers you can make them Special Lenses. It allows your child to participate and feel good about the patch. So if your needs are for all day wear or intermittent treatment we believe that you will experience the same results as we have.
Will they work??
Lindsey's Lenses were created as a result of our 3 year old daughter, Lindsey needing to wear a patch over her eyeglass lens to treat her Ambliopia (Lazy Eye). She was very upset and did not want to wear her new glasses with an ugly bandaid type cover on the lens. We asked the Pediatric Opthamologist and Pediatric Optician if there was something else that might look nicer. We were told this was all they had. In my business, (an orthodontic dental lab), we offer retainers in many colors that the patients choose, in order to encourage the patient to wear them. This gives kids some input in their own treatment. Lindsey loves choosing her patch to wear each day (to match her clothes). We have no trouble getting Lindsey to wear her "patched glasses" now with her Lindsey's Lenses.
